Elite House – Levi’s Offices

Scope

In October 2024, we won the competition to renovate Levi’s® newly rented spaces in the Elite House at Porte de Namur, Brussels.

Moving from their previous location in Diegem to a central Brussels address and reducing their surface area, our role was to guide them through both the strategic redefinition of their program and the full design of their new workspace, spread across five floors and approximately 3,150 m².

Design approach

Located in the iconic Elite corner building at the main intersection of Porte de Namur, with expansive city views and natural light on nearly all sides, our design strategy considered all these perks when assembling the program and spatial requirements.

The design guidelines were already established during the competition phase, which included a test fit for the 5th floor - intended to host the reception, main cafeteria/town hall, and large meeting rooms.

The approach developed organically, with a focus on enhancing comfort and offering a variety of work typologies. We leveraged both the constraints and the strengths of the existing building: such as the rigid, repetitive window and ceiling rhythm, to create a few simple, yet highly personalized and character-defining elements. These became the key spatial organizers, used across all floors with slight functional adaptations.

The lounge area was the first space we conceived, our starting point in stitching the rest together. Subtly curved partitions expand the space and create a welcoming gesture upon arrival at each floor. Transitioning into the open workspace, a pocket of small meeting rooms and focus booths acts as a buffer zone, adding volume and contrast while offering access to rooms on all sides.

Additional small booths, strategically arranged around the existing cores, provide full coverage for workstations. As a final touch, a glazed meeting room with bold blue metal frames serves as a visual accent becoming something of a symbol for the project.

Materiality & subliminal referencing

With an iconic brand like Levi’s®, the challenge was to creatively reflect its spirit without falling into clichés or overstatement. The look & feel was developed closely with the global creative team, who embraced our strategy while sharing valuable insights into the brand’s nuances.
Our goal was to let Levi’s® identity permeate the space naturally, creating a refined and immersive experience.
We defined our intentions from the start, with every decision guided by the following principles:

1. "Nothing is hidden" - Reflects the brand’s philosophy of transparency and precision, where every detail is purposefully designed and visible, showcasing the true craftsmanship behind the product. Our construction base consists of raw materials like plywood, metal and natural wall plasters that are exposed as such, with visible construction details: seams, joints, edges laid bare to emphasize integrity, durability and skill.

2. "Crafting every turn" - Takes inspiration from Levi’s® signature shapes - subtle curves and intricate lines highlighted by stitching as a quiet detail that speaks to craftsmanship, guiding the eye along the natural contours of the denim. Our palette of materials and accessories - from bespoke elements to loose pieces kept an eye on the right balance between softness and edgy, contrast and harmony, textures, patterns and color accents.

3. “Quality never goes out of style” - We aimed to create a spatial quality and ambiance that feels purposeful, flexible, and intentional, an environment designed to age gracefully, where people feel at ease and can find their place as they move, change, and evolve.

The LOBBY

The last space we worked on is actually the first one you encounter upon arrival - the ground floor lobby, where both employees and visitors access the main elevators leading to the reception and office floors.

The 30 m² entrance lobby needed a refresh that aligned with Levi’s® identity.
To maintain a cohesive and coherent design language throughout the building, we proposed using the same base materials, combined in a simple yet effective gesture that wraps the compact space and makes the most of its main assets: high ceilings, exposed concrete touches, and natural light.

Staying true to the brand’s appreciation for craft, we collaborated with Claylime to develop and hand-apply a custom wall plaster. The pattern, created specifically for this project through testing and refinement, covers most of the surface and subtly reveals Levi’s® logo, carved into its textured finish.

A metal baseboard with integrated indirect lighting guides visitors toward the elevators, while a touch of plywood on the opposite wall warms the atmosphere.

The emphasis on honest, visible details extends to the ceiling, which was left bare and finished in indigo as a reference to denim. Soft, diffuse lighting was incorporated to gently illuminate the surface and bring out its tone and texture.
