DAM SUM RESTAURANT
IN THE MOOD FOR CHINESE DELICACIES

Dam Sum owner, Damien Toulouse, approached ncbham with the intent of creating the first Shanghai Dim Sum restaurant in Ixelles, Brussels.
The identity of the space and the look & feel were to be authentic but non-traditional. We introduced the Asian universe and its complex minimalism while incorporating historical Chinese influences.

The red colour is a strong symbol of good fortune and joy China, while the newspapers on the wall, the suspended canopies, the presence of flashing lights and barstools convey the feeling of popular China’s street food. The look & feel exposes bright and reviving colours and materials with sustained contrast, suggesting a nocturnal and urban setting.
