CHIREC
The Tulp, anatomy of an employee restaurant
Quality &
peace
ncbham, in collaboration with Assar Architects, worked closely with the CHIREC on the new Delta hospital employee restaurant.
The team imagined an environment where the staff could relax, bond with colleagues, enjoy quality food and eat peacefully.
The food offer includes a healthy bar, a chef’s selection, world food and a grill counter, all prepared on site, giving the employees a large variety of choice.
The kitchen, the self-service and the takeaway area were designed to reach optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction, thanks to ncbham’s expertise in kitchen technologies, operational analysis and food concept.
ncbham branded the restaurant The Tulp, after Nicolaes Tulp, the 17th-century surgeon, who performed the dissection in Rembrandt’s famous painting,
«The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp».
A large mural in The Tulp represents this painting, with food replacing the body and a forest in the background, echoing to the surrounding nature.
Employee satisfaction was immediate for both the food offer and the new environment.
